The Vocation Review publishes profiles, interviews and method pieces about people whose professional practice is worth studying. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
What we publish
Every piece is reported and written by our editorial desk. We do not accept finished articles from subjects or their representatives. Subjects supply facts, documents and interview answers; the writing, framing and conclusions are ours.
Verification
Claims of fact are checked against primary sources wherever a primary source exists: registries, published research, court and company records, named datasets. Where a figure comes from a third party, we name that party and link to the original. Where a claim rests only on the subject’s own account, we attribute it to them in the text.
Disclosure
Some articles are produced under a commercial arrangement. Every such article carries a visible label at the top of the page stating the nature of the arrangement, and outbound commercial links in it are marked so search engines do not treat them as editorial endorsements. Labelling is not optional and cannot be waived by agreement.
Independence
A subject may correct facts about themselves. A subject may not approve, soften or veto our conclusions. Where a subject disputes a characterisation and we stand by it, we publish and note the dispute.
Sources and anonymity
We prefer named sources. We grant anonymity only when publication would expose a person to concrete professional or legal harm, and we say in the text why anonymity was granted.
Right of reply and removal
Anyone criticised in our pages is offered the opportunity to respond before publication. Subjects may withdraw their consent to a profile about them; we honour withdrawal requests within thirty days. Corrections are handled under our corrections policy.
