Pitch a subject

If you think your professional practice is worth studying, or you know someone whose is, this is how to tell us.

What we are looking for

Method, not achievement. We are less interested in what someone accomplished than in how: the decisions, sequence and trade-offs that produced it, and what a reader could actually borrow from it. A senior title or a headline number is a starting point, not a pitch.

What to send

A few paragraphs: what the person does differently from others in their field, and what evidence exists that it works. Include a way to reach the subject and, if you are pitching someone other than yourself, why you think their method holds up under scrutiny. Send it via our contact page.

What is not a pitch

A press release, a finished article written to be run as-is, or company marketing copy is not a pitch: we do not publish material we did not report and write ourselves. See our editorial standards for what we do and do not accept from subjects.

If money is involved

Some pieces are produced under a disclosed commercial arrangement. If that is what you are proposing, say so upfront. Every commercially arranged article is labelled as such before publication, under our sponsored content policy: money buys editorial attention, not approval rights over the conclusions.

What happens after you pitch

We reply to every pitch we take seriously. If we are not the right fit, we say so rather than leaving you waiting. We do not guarantee publication, and we do not pre-agree conclusions before reporting.
